But, I LOVE my Hair!!

June 24, 2012

I have always been a fan of the natural way – foods and cleaners and recycling.

Lots of things can be done easily to make our lives more natural, and one of the simplest things is soaps and shampoos. While I am not of a mind to spread doom & gloom, one thing I know for sure is that sulfates are bad for my skin! I can’t tell you how many soaps and shampoos have blistered my skin and scalp.
It can be a royal pain in the patootie to find something that works for you without spending hours researching and lots of dollars on products. Some of those products are costly enough to dissuade a person from buying them initially, or you get something that just doesn’t work for you and now you have a cabinet full of non-returnable items that just sit there. One time, while reading all the labels in the shampoo aisle, my companion said “This aisle has a time limit, you know.”

Yeah, thanks. 🙂

But I LOVE my hair, and I want it to look & feel as good as possible. Some totally botanical products just don’t clean, or they make my hair flat, oily or the worst – like straw!! ewwwww

What’s a gal to do?

I found that using a shower filter is one way to help my hair and skin because it cuts down on the chlorine in the water. (There’s lots of chlorine in the water where I live.) Some of these filters are cost-effective and easily found at places like Home Depot or department stores.
A funner and easier way to navigate around chemicals is to find a great hair product. I found the RenPure brand to be moderately priced and very effective. They have enough formulas to work with most hair types, and are concentrated enough for the bottle to last a while.
I am currently using the MY LUSCIOUS HAIR NEEDS LIFT! formula. My hair has great shine and feels great! Feels thicker and smells good, too.

I’m not trying to sell you on the Renpure brand, but what I really like about it is that it’s not tested on animals and it WORKS. That makes me very happy, indeed!

A bit from their site if you’d like to check them out:

Most Americans are exposed to 10,000 chemicals a day. We can’t save the world but we can supply it with safe and effective hair care.

From their FAQ page:

What does Renpure mean?
RENPURE is really TWO words. REN is from Confucius and it defines the highest level of honesty. Pure is exactly what it says. We strive to make the purest formulations we can develop.

What makes Renpure Organics Products different from other organic hair care products?
All companies have the same portfolio of ingredients available to them to develop products. The difference is that it’s not what’s in the bottle but what’s in our hearts that set us apart. Renpure is not a gigantic in personal product machine. We are a family owned and operated company that believes in our products and our philosophies. We do not launch any products unless we are totally satisfied with the performance, ingredients, safety and message. If the Redmond’s don’t absolutely love the products, we would never expose our customers to them.

Do you test your products on animals?
No, All of Renpure Organics are tested on the Redmond’s!

Are Renpure Organics Products Made in the USA?
Yes, all of our products are made right here in our United States of America.

Is Renpure Organics Packaging recyclable?
Yes, all of our packaging is recyclable. We strive to make products that are in line with nature, believing in a forward moving effort to make less of an impact on our beautiful planet.

See? They love what they do and they put out a great product! What a dynamite combo!

Shampoo is a small bit to do for a more natural lifestyle, but it’s something you do often enough to make a big difference. If you can feel good about your hair and what you’re doing to cut out household chemicals, that’s a big deal!
